In accordance with Article 13 of the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679, Università degli Studi di Milano (henceforth referred as "University") in the person of the pro tempore Dean, informs users about the use of personal data by the website https://beenomix2.beenomix.it (henceforth referrred as "website".

This notice is limited to the https://beenomix2.beenomix.it  and has no value for external sites even if accessible from links on https://beenomix2.beenomix.it.

The compliance by Università degli Studi di Milano with the current legislation on transparency and the mandatory publication of data and documents remains valid.

2. Purpose and legal basis of the data processing

The processed data is listed below:

  • Navigation dataFor example: IP address, browser type and device parameters used to connect to the site, name of the Iternet Service Provider (ISP), date and time of visit, web page of origin of the visitor (referral) and exit ;
  • Data collected through cookies while users browse the website. For further information on the cookies used by the website or by the sites that make up the system, see paragraph 6 and its sub-paragraphs.

The aforementioned information is processed automatically and collected in aggregate form in order to verify the correct functioning of the site, and for security reasons.

This information will be processed on the basis of the legitimate interest of the owner.

For security purposes (spam filters, firewalls, virus detection), the automatically collected data may include personal data such as the IP address, which could be used, in accordance with current law, in order to block attempts to damage the site or to cause damage to other users, or in any case harmful or criminal activities. In any case, such data will never be used for profiling purposes but only to prorect the site and its users.

The legal bases of the processing are: compliance with legal and contractual obligations, fulfillment of specific requests by the interested party before the conclusion of the contract and processing of data connected to the management of any complaints or disputes and prevention of fraud and any illegal activity.

In compliance with art. 6 paragraph 1 of the GDPR, the legal basis of the processing may also be the expressed consent of the interested party.

 

3. Types of data processed

 Personal Data is collected for the following purposes and using the following services.

The computer systems and application procedures used to operate the site acquire, during their normal operation, some data whose transmission is implicit in the use of communication protocols on the Internet.

This information is used to obtain anonymous statistical information on the use of the portal and to check its correct functioning and is not associated with identified users; however, by their nature and through associations with data processed by third parties, they could allow the identification of data subjects. For example, the IP address of the system used to connect to the portal falls into this category.

These data are removed from the systems after the statistics are processed and are kept off-line exclusively for ascertainment of responsibility in the event of computer crimes and can only be consulted upon request by the judicial authority.

For the use of online services that provide for authentication, registration or sending of e-mails, personal data provided freely by users in different ways are used.

The optional, explicit and voluntary sending of e-mails to the addresses indicated on the site entails the subsequent acquisition of the sender's address, necessary to respond to requests, as well as any other personal data included in the message.

4. Optional supply of data

Some requested data (e.g. registration data) are mandatory and failure to provide them will make it impossible to provide the requested service.

Similarly, failure to communicate some data that may be required for subscribing to online services may make it impossible to use the chosen service.

Registration and subscription data are provided voluntarily.

The person who registers freely gives consent to the processing of data: be aware that in the absence of such consent, the registration and subscription of the services cannot take place.

The data treatment carried out before the withdrawal of the consent by the interested party will still remain valid.

 

5. Processing methods

Data collection takes place in compliance with the principles of relevance, completeness and non-excess in relation to the purposes for which they are processed. The personal data provided are processed in compliance with the principles of lawfulness, correctness and transparency provided for by Article 5 of the GDPR, also with the aid of IT and telematic tools designed to store and manage the data, and in any case in such a way as to guarantee security and protect the maximum confidentiality of the interested party.

7. Parties authorized to process data and to which data can be sent to

Users personal data will be known and processed, in compliance with current legislation on the subject, by the staff of the Department of Veterinary Medicine (DIMEVET)

The data may be disclosed:

  1. to the University structures that request it, for the institutional purposes of the University or in compliance with legislative obligations;
  2. to non-economic public entities or consortia owned by the University (e.g. MIUR) when the communication is necessary for the performance of institutional functions of the applicant body;
  3. to some external subjects, identified as Data Processors pursuant to art. 28 of the GDPR;

In any case, the communication or disclosure of the data requested (in accordance with the Law) by the Public Security Authority, the Judicial Authority or by other public entities for purposes of defense, State security and crime investigations, as well as the communication to the Judicial Authority in compliance with legal obligations, where there is an alleged crime. Finally, personal data will not be transferred to third countries or international organizations unless this is strictly connected to specific requests from the user or to needs related to the finalization of the intervention, for which specific consent will be acquired.

 

8. Data retention

In relation to the different purposes for which they were collected, data will be kept for the time required by the relevant legislation or for that strictly necessary for the pursuit of a certain aim. Specifically:

  • the navigation data will be kept for a maximum of 5 years;
  • the data collected through cookies will be kept for a period of time not exceeding that indicated in this information.

 

9. Rights of the interested party

The interested parties have the right to obtain from the Guarantor, in the cases covered, access to their personal data and the correction or cancellation of the same or the limitation of the processing that concerns them or to oppose the processing (articles 15 and following of the Regulation). 10. Right to complaint

Interested parties who believe that the processing of their personal data through this site viokates the provisions of the Regulation, have the right to lodge a complaint with the Guarantor, as required by art. 77 of the Regulation itself, or to take the appropriate judicial offices (Article 79 of the Regulation).
